Why did Raiola stay in the game so long on Saturday? OC wanted him to 'work some things out'

Something that came up in the chatroom during the Akron game was wondering why Raiola was still in the game well into the 3rd quarter.

Well, the reason is the OC wanted him to get in a few more plays, in part because he was on a roll and in part to work on a few things. Holgorsen lobbied Rhule to leave Raiolo in a little longer, and Rhule approved that.

Raiola ended up leading Nebraska on 6 consecutive scoring drives before bowing out.

I do miss the days when Dr Tom would put the number 2 QB in the second quarter to get real experience. We may see TJ a lot earlier this week.

Osborne was one of the last of the coaches for whom the description ‘gentleman’ might come to mind. These days ‘SOB’ seems a lot more accurate for most coaches, probably including Rhule.
