What was learned from the Spring Game?

Here’s the LJS/OWH summary of what was learned at the spring game.

I think the receivers question is not fully settled yet, Washington in particular needs softer hands. But maybe some of that had to do with the accuracy of the passes.

The turnovers, especially 8 fumbles resulting in 6 turnovers, were very troubling, and all too familiar.

The running game also seems to me to be a bit of a work in progress.

I don’t think we saw enough of the 3-3-5 to judge it yet.

Special teams had their ups and downs, though using the XFL kickoff rules limited what we saw of kick coverage. (Personally I wouldn’t be upset if the NCAA adopted the XFL rules on kickoffs, though I think the 1-2-3 PAT rule is silly.)

Casey Thompson didn’t play, I assume he’s still recovering, but I’d say Sims might give him a good battle for starting QB.
