Unusual to see a transfer in late August, I guess anything’s possible these days.
Mac Markway, a TE who had 1 start and played in 12 games as a true freshman for LSU last season, has transferred to Nebraska.

Because the portal is closed, he can enroll but will not be eligible until next year. So this becomes a redshirt year. He can practice AFAIK.
This LJS article says Markway will be eligible to play this season, but doesn’t explain why.
Don’t really understand why but it may help. I cannot imagine he gets much PT, nit knowing the playbook but the coaches may try to get a few plays that he can contribute.
I read somewhere that he could play right away if he was a walk on. Not sure if it’s true.

Just call me “Pa”
Go Big Red
Go Cardinals
I think he even said he was here for the long haul. Next year he can really play.
I’m an old fogey (75 in a week) but I think someone who transfers once is likely to do it again.
He’s from St. Louis, though, so maybe Lincoln will feel more like home than Baton Rouge.
Some years ago I read a book called “The Nine Nations of North America”, which divided the continent into 9 areas that had geographic and demographic similarities. People from one region would feel more ‘at home’ within that region than in any of the other 8 regions. Interesting read.
Lincoln and St. Louis were both in the Breadbasket, the capital of which was Kansas City.
I read yesterday he had been injured and out for the year.
ACL injury, according to 10-11 website.
