The SEC will go to a 9 game conference schedule in 2026, with each team having 3 protected rivalries. That should mean a home/home meeting with every school over a 4 year period.
The playoff committee’s recent decision to use a public metric on strength-of-schedule was cited as a major factor in this.
So far, the ACC is sticking with their 8 game conference schedule.
