Post-season tournaments

Only 8 Big Ten teams made it to the NCAA Tournament this year, Ohio State and Indiana getting snubbed. The inclusion of North Carolina is another slap in the face of the Big Ten.

The NIT field has been announced and does not include ANY Big Ten teams!

The first College Basketball Crown tournament field has yet to be announced and may not be available for another day or two. The Big Ten is committed to send (at least) two teams to this new post-season tournament.

Nebraska women are a #10 seed and face Louisville in the first round. 2 seed TCU and Farleigh DIckinson are the other teams in that regional.

Yet on the Women’s side, the B1G has 12 teams in the dance with UCLA as the overall #1 seed and Nebraska (#10 seed) plays Louisville (#7 seed) on Friday in Tex-ass.

Go Big Red Ladies!

The Men’s NCAA selection committee is definitely
A. more suspect?
B. Less data based?
Or C. (Insert your own description here)
than the Women’s IMHO.

Huskers face Arizona State in the College Basketball Crown tournament on March 31st. USC also is playing. So that means Indiana and Ohio State are done?

NC is the only really suspect team in the Big Dance, IMHO, Indiana and Ohio State had bad finishes to their season, and Nebraska’s was even worse. They went from being a solid 9 seed to not even being on the NCAA’s radar screen.

14 of 16 teams making the NCAA Tournament may be a record no conference ever beats, not even the SEC.
