So the B1G tournament is in progress and NU is doing very well.
We are in 3rd place starting day two just behind OSU, no one will catch PSU.
We have 9 of 10 qualified for the NCAA tournament and #10 looks likely to earn a spot as well.
The way qualification works is depending on record, you earn a spot for the conference. There are 14 teams and the lowest number is 7, the highest is 10. If you place at that level or higher you qualify.
149 is the only weight we haven’t qualified yet, Lamar fell out of the top 8 but the conference earned 9 spots and he will wrestle for 9th later today. In addition there are 4 at large spots that the loser of the 9th place match may receive.
As a total we have 5 guys in the finals, 2 between 3-6 and 2 in the 7th place match. Of concern is we had 2 returning AA medical default last night. I hope they are both OK for nationals. That will be in 2 weeks in Cleveland. I’ll be there and hope to see another team trophy (top 4) and several AAs as well as another national champion.
