Linebacker Gage Stenger and cornerback Blye Hill out for the season

Saw this via his mom’s Facebook page (she’s a high school classmate) but also in the Hastings Tribune - linebacker Gage Stenger suffered an injury in practice Tuesday, had surgery Thursday, and has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury. Cornerback Blye Hill is also out for the season.

Coach Rhule had the following quote: “(He is) the heartbeat and epitome to what it means to be a Husker,” Rhule said [of] Stenger. “A leader on the team. A grinder and a guy that was going to play a lot of football for us, especially on special teams.”

Bummed that 2 of the 4 under the radar guys I want to see are lost (TE Marcaway and CB Hill)

The other two look like they should contribute (OT Knaack and now short yardage RB Genatome)

Sad I’ll miss the Cincy game, daughter is in med school and her white coat ceremony is that night. How utterly outrageous that they won’t reschedule. :slight_smile:
