A slow start for both teams, Huskers lead Maryland at home.
Huskers looked awful. Mast is still AWOL and Kawrence has lost his shot. Sanfort has returned to earth. I’m worried.
Maryland doesn’t really need the help of the Big 10 refs, but they seem to be giving it anyway.
I hope this isn’t the same crew that worked the Northwestern-Indiana game last night, but I think it’s a crew that worked a recent Nebraska game with some controversial calls.
Of course if we were playing the way we’re capable of playing it wouldn’t be a factor. But we’re not, we’re playing like poop.
Well, we won. Somehow. A little Sam Hoiberg helped a lot.
They played a bit better in the 2nd half, especially Sam Hoiberg, and win 74-61
Probabilities of a Top 4 finish
Team | Record | Schedule | Top 4 Prob |Illinois | 13–4 | (vs MICH, vs ORE) | 98%
Nebraska | 13–4 | (@ USC, @ UCLA, vs IA) | 92%
Purdue | 12–4 | (@ OSU, @ NW, vs WIS) | 85%
Michigan St | 12–4 | (@ PUR, @ IND, @ MICH) | 65%
Wisconsin | 11–5 | @ MINN, vs WASH, @ PUR) | 40%
The two games in California will be huge, and Iowa at home on Senior Day should be really interesting.
Purdue lost at home to MSU today, so that probably puts Nebraska at the top of a 3 way tie for 2nd in the Big Ten given that we have a 1-1 record against Illinois and beat MSU. Purdue may wind up with the 5 seed in Chicago.
Illinois and MSU both still have to play Michigan, Purdue still has to play Wisconsin. If the Huskers win out, they should lock down the #2 seed in Chicago.
But sayin’ is easier than doin’.
