Huskers were down by as much as 16 but came back and win 83-77.
Huskers went down by 16 in the second half. I said to myself, “well, I never expected us to go undefeated. We have to lose sometime”. Then the Husker kick it into high gear, shut IU down, take the lead and win 83-77. Huskers are 16-0 and have won 20 in a row since last March. Let that sink in. I have dreamed of this year since I started following Nebraska Basketball in the mid 60’s. GBR!
65-66 was Cip’s best team, but since they finished 2nd to Kansas they didn’t make the NCAA Tournament.
That team got up to #7 in the rankings.

IIRC on 16 teams were invited back then. BTW, Wisky just beat Michigan 91-88 in Ann Arbor.
There were 22 teams in the ‘66 tournament.
