50-48, get your popcorn ready, gonna be a fun 2nd half.
Big X refs SUCK.
Huskers make just 1 3 in the entire second half and lose 75-72. Michigan out-muscled them and the refs let them get away with it.
Sounds familiar.
Considering the Huskers were down two players who have played key roles this season, they played fairly well, but they couldn’t get enough inside plays to make up for all the missed 3’s in the 2nd half.
They were 9-1 in the first half of the conference season, can they go 9-1 or better in the 2nd half, with just 2 more rated opponents?
Is a rematch with Michigan on Selection Sunday in the cards?
Michigan shot almost 6X the number of free throws.
The game was two completely different halves. 50-48 in the first half. 22-27 in the second half.
Huskers were so damn close despite missing Mast and Frager.
Yeah, I remarked to my wife it was almost like we had changed channels at halftime to two other teams.
Indiana is currently leading #12 Purdue by 10 at home 12 minutes left in the 2nd half.
Lunadi still has the huskers as a 2 seed with Michigan a 1 seed.
My thoughts.
Huskers showed they are not pretenders. They are legit.
Obviously Frager and Mast being out hurt.
Essegian and Jarusavicius could have filled in if they were healthy.
Curtis and Jacobson played very well.
Garcia was absent. What was that about?
If Hoiberg gets the charge at the end, the Huskers probably win. That felt like a game changer.
Great game overall. I love watching this team.

Go Big Red
Go Cardinals
Berke was a liability on offense.
People not being able to hit 3’s was a big problem, don’t know if that’s because Michigan was guarding them closer, some of the shots looked pretty open but just off target.
I thought Fred should have called a time out when the Huskers were still leading by 1-3 to settle the team down. I saw a few really bad shots, mostly from outside, and several missed layups, too.
A neutral site rematch at the Big Ten Championships could be the game of the week and could decide a #1 seed.
They were able to more closely guard the perimeter because we couldn’t control the paint the way we can with Mast in there. Also, Chrisler Arena vs #3 Michigan was always going to be a ludicrously difficult game to win.
In cycling, the French have a saying that in English more or less means “a bad day”. Nebraska had its “un jour sans”…a day without.
I actually feel more optimistic about the remaining games than I did before last night. I think we’ll be favored in all of the remaining games, but I expect to lose to either Illinois or Purdue. If we can finish with 2 losses, a #1 seed in the NCAA tourney seems likely.
