TE Thomas Fidone will not return. It’s not clear if he’ll declare for the NFL or enter the portal.
Also special teams coach Ed Foley will not return.
Neither are big surprises

I thought the December transfer portal window was closed now, unless he’s graduated he may have to wait until the spring transfer portal window, which would mean missing out on spring drills at his new school, if he decides to transfer.
I’m relieved to see that Rhule is willing to make changes in his staff even if it means saying goodbye to long-time assistants. We’ve had head coaches who stuck with (or got stuck with) assistants and that was a factor in their eventual departure.
The portal closes 5 days after your bowl game. Still it should be closed unless he’s a graduate but his bio doesn’t specify.
He’s listed as a junior but this was his 4th season at Nebraska, so he may have graduated already.
It also occurred to me that he might have entered the portal without publicizing it, as I believe the portal is not available to the public or the media.
Adam Carricker reports Fidone will declare for the NFL draft.
Also Isaiah Neyor has removed his name from the portal. His status with the team is unclear.
I don’t see Neyor playing for NU next year, just a gut feeling.
There’s a lot of conflicting information online about whether or not Fidone is in the Portal or has filed his NFL papers, but it does seem clear he won’t be on the Nebraska roster for 2025.
Does he have draft potential or is he looking to become an unsigned free agent? Will he get an invite to the Combines?
Thomas Fidone, the next Travis Kelce.
He’s actually a big bigger than Kelce (a 3rd round draft pick), but doesn’t have the good hands he had in college.
Maybe he’ll get picked by the Bears, where football careers go to die.
C’mon Mike, Bears are up by 2 points withe the ball at the 2 minute warning.
Yeah, they can still blow this.
And then they fumble, Packers recover, then kick a 55 yd FG. FFS.
I think he’s a late pick, 5 to 7 round. He needs to prove he can stay healthy and block.
And the Bears snap a 10 game losing streak (11 game losing streak to Green Bay) by beating the Packers on a game-ending field goal. Surreal end to a terrible season.
And then win on a Cairo Santos FG with a second on the clock. Hollywood stuff.
