It was announced before today’s game that Connor Essegian will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.
The Huskers beat South Carolina Upstate 72-63 today, but it was not a great game, and there are some toughies on the schedule the next few weeks. They’re 8-0 but not a very impressive 8-0.
I’m not sure you’re giving them enough credit. They’re not a great, dominate team but have wins over Oklahoma and K-State plus an exhibition win over current #9 BYU. Hope springs eternal. I feel far better about the prospects of the basketball program than I do about the football program. That’s something that would have been inconceivable back in the day.
I did not see the exhibition game and of course it doesn’t count. I think may well be an entertaining basketball season, which is more than I can say for the football season. Essegian’s loss changes the game plan a bit, he could spark a team out of a lull.
Could they finally conquer the NCAA Tournament losing streak?
