Joe Lunardi has the Huskers as an 11 seed without a play-in game.
USA Today has the Huskers as an 11 seed with a play-in game.
CBS has the Huskers as a 10 seed.
Clearly the Huskers need to keep winning, with tomorrow’s game at PBA against Ohio State as their next challenge. OSU has come close to some big upsets this year.
I sort of prefer an 11 seed to an 7-8-9-10 seed, because it gets a winnable game (against a 6 seed) which would probably produce a second round game against a 3 seed. A 7-10 seed means a #2 seed in round 2 and an 8-9 means a #1 seed.
Improving their ranking from an 11 seed to a 6 seed seems unlikely to me, but an 11 seed means they’re uncomfortably close to getting bumped out by 1 or 2 bad games.
