NCAA is recommending that starting in 2027 the season start on the Thursday of what is now called ‘week 0’, the week before Labor Day weekend. This would mean 12 games in 14 weeks, meaning either two bye weeks or a possibility of starting the bowls/playoffs a week earlier.
