Another road win at Washington

Washington built up a double-digit lead early, with lights out shooting from behind the arc, but Nebraska didn’t panic and just kept playing good basketball and got back into the lead in the 2nd half, en route to a 86-72 win in Seattle. The Huskers outscored the Huskies 49-25 in the 2nd half.

Good to see they avoided a letdown in a game they should have won. Need to keep it up.

The rest of the schedule is:

2/9 Ohio State
2/13 Maryland (currently #18)
2/16 at Northwestern
2/19 at Penn State
2/24 Michigan (currently #24)
3/1 Minnesota
3/4 at Ohio State
3/9 Iowa

5 home games vs 3 road games. Iowa, Minnesota and Northwestern are just one game behind us in the conference win standings, Penn State is 2 back.

Several of those should be quad 1 opportunities. I liked that the team didn’t panic last night when they got down, just kept playing solid basketball and when the 3’s stopped falling like rain for Washington they started pulling even and then pulled ahead.

Even if the Huskers don’t make the Big Dance, there are two post-season opportunities. There’s a new post-season tournament in Las Vegas that the Big Ten is committed to sending two teams to, and I think they get to pick ahead of the NIT. I could see the NIT wanting a home game at Nebraska because they sell out PBA on a regular basis.

Iowa, Minnesota and Northwestern are just one game behind us in the conference win standings, Penn State is 2 back. There are no easy wins in the Big Ten this year.
