LJS article on 2024/2025 schedules. Trev Alberts says all conference schools were initially asked if they wanted to protect 3 annual games (which would have led to a 3-6-6 schedule with 24 protected games), but in the end they wound up protecting a total of 11 games. There was some ‘gamesmanship’ going on, as I suspected.
